Syria, Feb. 27 -- The sudden and uncoordinated closure of Al-Hol camp in northeastern Syria on February 22 has left thousands of people - including children and people with chronic medical conditions - without access to health care or protection, the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF) warned today.
Throughout the transition period, access to health care for people in the camp was severely compromised. MSF stayed until the closure, but many humanitarian organizations were forced to suspend activities due to insecurity and shifting control of the area.
