India, Sept. 21 -- Human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari-Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha were re-arrested in Pakistan just hours after the Supreme Court granted them bail and suspended their sentences, drawing sharp criticism from Amnesty International.
Re-Arrest After Bail
The lawyers were taken into police custody on September 17 at around 9:30 pm while their release paperwork was being processed at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. They were subsequently produced before an anti-terrorism judge, who ordered that they remain in Adiala Jail for another 14 days.
Earlier Convictions
