India, Sept. 3 -- Children in Nepal's flood-hit communities are showing signs of psychological distress a week after devastating flash floods swept through Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, with many still coping with lost homes, missing relatives and the trauma of witnessing the disaster.
Children Grapple With Trauma
Save the Children said children in Nuwakot described feeling fearful and anxious after seeing homes submerged, belongings swept away and school buses carrying friends washed away by floodwaters. At least 1,000 people have been killed and more than 3,900 remain missing, according to figures cited by the organisation.
