India, Sept. 10 -- Two weeks after devastating flash floods struck Nepal, about 540 children have been separated from their parents or left without adult family members, while around 630 children remain unaccounted for in Rasuwa and Nuwakot, according to an initial assessment cited by Save the Children.

A rapid assessment conducted by the National Child Rights Council with child protection experts, including Save the Children, found 1,233 children living in holding centres as of September 4.
102 children were unaccompanied and had no parent or relative with them.
439 children were separated from their parents and were being cared for by relatives.
