India, Sept. 18 -- More than five children were killed or injured every day by landmines, unexploded ordnance and other explosive devices between 2020 and 2025, according to new analysis by Save the Children. The organisation recorded 12,053 child casualties over the six-year period, highlighting the continuing dangers children face during and after conflicts.

Save the Children said explosive ordnance was the largest single named weapon category in UN reporting on child casualties during the period. Children represented 46% of civilian casualties from landmines and explosive remnants of war where age was known.
