India, Sept. 3 -- More than seven children have been killed or injured on average every day in Lebanon during the six months following a major escalation of violence, with nearly 1,300 children among the casualties, Save the Children said in a new assessment.
Children Face Continuing Threat
According to figures cited by the organisation, at least 257 children have been killed and 1,039 injured since March 2 in Israeli airstrikes. The wider toll stands at 4,348 people killed and 12,300 injured, based on figures from Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health. At least 355 people have reportedly been killed in Israeli strikes since a ceasefire was announced on June 19.
