India, Aug. 14 -- More than 150,000 children affected by conflict and poverty in Ethiopia's Amhara and Tigray regions are set to receive new education opportunities through a programme launched by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and the LEGO Foundation.

Programme Targets Out-of-School Children

The Playful Education Pathways in Ethiopia (PEPE) initiative will operate across 34 woredas, or districts, with support from Luminos Fund, Emmanuel Development Association, Amhara Development Association and Tigray Development Association. The programme aims to help children who have been unable to attend school because of insecurity, economic hardship and child labour.
