India, Sept. 18 -- A new agreement between Gilead Sciences and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is expected to expand access to the HIV prevention drug lenacapavir in Latin America and the Caribbean, but Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) says Gilead's continued control over supply and pricing could limit its impact.
Deal Covers 14 Countries
Under the agreement announced by PAHO, 14 countries including Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Peru will be able to procure lenacapavir through PAHO's Regional Revolving Funds, subject to national regulatory and programme requirements.
