India, July 23 -- The French parliament has passed a significant bill prohibiting children under 15 from accessing social media and restricting mobile phone use in schools.
Legislative Timeline and Scope
France has become the first country in the European Union to enact this type of legislation. The ban will take effect this September for the creation of new social media accounts. By January 2027, the restrictions will extend to all existing accounts for users under the age threshold.
