India, Sept. 9 -- Scientist and health communicator Dr. Morgan McSweeney, known online as Dr. Noc, has joined Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in calling for wider access to lenacapavir, a long-acting HIV prevention medicine that can provide nearly complete protection when administered twice a year.
Campaign Targets Drug Access
McSweeney is supporting MSF's campaign urging pharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences to make lenacapavir more affordable and accessible, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. MSF says the medicine is priced at more than $28,000 per person annually in the United States and that its availability remains restricted in several countries.
