India, Sept. 7 -- Years after conflict forced him from his home in Jabal Sabir, Yemen, Idrees is rebuilding his livelihood as an aluminium fabricator after losing his workshop and specialised tools during his family's escape.

Conflict destroys a source of income

Before fighting reached his community near Taiz city, Idrees earned a stable living through his aluminium fabrication business. His workshop, equipment and established customer base supported his family.

As shelling intensified, he and his family fled with only the clothes they were wearing. Their specialised tools, accumulated over years of work, were left behind, making it difficult for Idrees to resume his profession after displacement to Lahj governorate.
