India, Sept. 21 -- Natural disasters disrupted education for about 13 million children across six countries over the past three months, with earthquakes, floods and wildfires forcing schools to close, relocate classes or shift learning arrangements, according to Save the Children.
Nepal Floods Leave Children Out of Class
In Nepal, August flash floods struck while children were travelling to school or beginning lessons. Save the Children said at least 1,350 people were killed and around 4,800 remained missing. Although some schools have reopened, many displaced children cannot enrol in schools near their new locations because they are not registered there.
