India, Aug. 27 -- A sudden flash flood from the Tibetan side of the Bhote Koshi River swept through Rasuwa district on August 26, devastating areas around Timure and Syabrubesi before moving downstream into the Trishuli River and prompting high alerts in several districts. CARE Nepal said it is preparing to support affected families as search and rescue operations continue.
Damage Assessment Underway
CARE Nepal is coordinating with the Government of Nepal, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, international humanitarian organisations and local partners to assess the scale of the destruction and identify urgent needs.
