India, Sept. 30 -- At least 17 children were injured in heavy fighting in Baidoa, Somalia, as violence damaged health facilities and left medical workers, patients and caregivers among those affected, child rights agencies said on September 29.
Hospital Hit During Blast
An explosion reportedly caused by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device near Baidoa District Hospital severely injured people inside and around the facility. Healthcare officials said young girls, including a two-year-old child, were admitted for treatment.
