India, Aug. 25 -- Amnesty International has alleged that Indian security forces used unlawful and potentially deadly weapons against protesters during the Cockroach Janata Party-led "Chalo Sansad" demonstrations in Delhi and Bihar, with no Delhi police officer held accountable a month after the incidents.
Evidence of Excessive Force
In a digital investigation released on August 24, Amnesty said its Evidence Lab verified 17 videos from central Delhi and two from Siwan, Bihar. The footage, combined with witness accounts and photographs, documented the use of pellet-firing shotguns, tear gas, grenades, lathis and electric shock devices between July 20 and 24.
