India, Sept. 15 -- More than 15,000 letters written from around the world have become a tangible expression of support for the family and colleagues of Honduran environmental activist Juan Lopez, who was killed in September 2024.
Juan Lopez's Fight for Water
Lopez was a human rights defender, environmental activist, husband and father from Tocoa, Honduras. Since 2015, he had worked with community members to defend the Guapinol and San Pedro rivers, forests and Carlos Escaleras Mejia National Park from mining and energy projects.
