New Delhi, Aug. 18 -- The Yamuna River in Delhi rose above the warning level on Sunday (17 August) touching 204.60 metres at the Old Railway Bridge around 7 pm, officials confirmed.
The warning threshold for the capital is set at 204.50 metres, while the danger level stands at 205.33 metres. Evacuation measures are generally initiated once the river crosses 206 metres.
The Old Railway Bridge is considered a crucial monitoring site for assessing river flow and flood threats. Authorities linked the steady rise in water levels to the regular discharge of water from the Wazirabad and Hathnikund barrages.
