New Delhi, March 20 -- Vikram K. Doraiswami (IFS:1992), presently High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the People's Republic of China.
He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
Vikram Doraiswami joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1992. After completing his training at LBSNAA and the Foreign Service Institute, he was first posted to Hong Kong in 1994 as a Third Secretary. During this time, he also learned Chinese at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 1996, he was posted to Beijing, where he worked for nearly four years.
