Union Cabinet Congratulates PM Modi on Becoming India's Longest-Serving Continuously Elected Prime Minister
New Delhi, June 11 -- The Union Cabinet has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister in the history of independent India, completing 4,399 consecutive days in office on June 10, 2026. The Cabinet noted that the milestone surpasses the previous record of 4,398 days held by Jawaharlal Nehru between 1952 and 1964.
In a resolution adopted on the occasion, the Cabinet described the achievement as a reflection of India's democratic strength, public trust and citizen participation.
