New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- The Supreme Court has postponed to October 10 the hearing on issues related to the manufacture and sale of 'green' firecrackers in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
Earlier, on September 26, the apex court had permitted certified manufacturers to produce green firecrackers, with the condition that they would not sell them in the restricted Delhi-NCR region without prior approval.
The court also directed the Union Government to reconsider the complete ban on firecracker manufacturing in the region and instructed the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to consult all stakeholders - including the Delhi government, manufacturers, and traders - before arriving at a final decision.
