New Delhi, April 6 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has reported that seizures linked to enforcement actions in the ongoing General Elections and bye-elections 2026 have surpassed Rs.650 crore, reflecting intensified monitoring under the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
The Commission had announced the election schedule on March 15, 2026, for the Legislative Assemblies of Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, along with bye-elections in six states. It subsequently directed all State and Union Territory administrations to ensure strict compliance with MCC guidelines.
