New Delhi, April 15 -- Senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary has been unanimously elected as the leader of the NDA Legislature Party in Bihar, clearing the way for him to assume office as the next Chief Minister.
The proposal was moved by outgoing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during the NDA legislative meeting and was accepted with full consensus by alliance members.
Following his election, BJP state president Nitin Nabin met Chaudhary at his residence in Patna and congratulated him, expressing confidence in his leadership and wishing him a successful tenure.
Subsequently, Samrat Chaudhary called on Governor Syed Ata Hasnain at Raj Bhavan and formally staked claim to form the new government, in the presence of senior NDA leaders.
