New Delhi, Nov. 1 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. Calling the day "a historic occasion," he said the Run for Unity and participation of millions across India reflected the resolve of New India. A commemorative coin and postal stamp were also released.
The Prime Minister described Sardar Patel as the architect of India's unity who integrated over 550 princely states and laid the foundation for Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.
