New Delhi, Dec. 17 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Addis Ababa and was warmly received at the airport by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. Modi expressed appreciation for the gesture and said Ethiopia is a nation with a rich history and vibrant culture. He noted that India and Ethiopia share deep civilisational ties and said he looks forward to engaging with the Ethiopian leadership to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across diverse areas.

Soon after his arrival, the Prime Minister participated in a traditional Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony at the Addis Ababa airport along with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. Modi said the ceremony beautifully reflects Ethiopia's cultural heritage.
