New Delhi, July 8 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred the 'Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia', the country's highest civilian honour, by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during his State Visit to Indonesia.

The award was presented in recognition of Modi's leadership and exceptional contribution to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and bilateral relations between India and Indonesia.

Accepting the honour, the Prime Minister dedicated the award to the people of both countries and to the enduring civilisational ties that have connected India and Indonesia for centuries.
