PM Modi Commissions Three Indigenous Naval Ships in Kolkata, Highlights Maritime Self-Reliance
New Delhi, June 22 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 21 commissioned three indigenously designed and built naval platforms-INS Dunagiri, an advanced stealth frigate; INS Sanshodhak, a large hydrographic survey vessel; and INS Agray, an anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft-at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Designed by the Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau and constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, the three vessels have an indigenous content of over 75 percent and were built with the participation of more than 200 MSMEs. The inductions are expected to strengthen India's maritime capabilities, enhance coastal security and improve maritime domain awareness.
