New Delhi, June 10 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 4,399 days in office, surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru's tenure to become the longest-serving Prime Minister of India elected consecutively by the people.
Modi first assumed office on May 26, 2014, and has since led three consecutive elected governments. The milestone marks the longest continuous tenure by an elected Prime Minister in India's history.
