New Delhi, Aug. 13 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a video message, welcomed over 300 participants from 64 countries to India for the 18th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA). Calling them "shining stars," he said the event reflected the spirit where tradition meets innovation, spirituality meets science, and curiosity meets creativity. He highlighted India's ancient astronomical heritage, recalling Aryabhatta's pioneering contributions, including the invention of zero and recognition of Earth's rotation.
