New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- India has welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and the Russian Federation to hold a meeting in Alaska on 15 August 2025, aimed at addressing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said the meeting "holds the promise" of ending hostilities and opening prospects for peace. Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's earlier remarks, the statement reiterated, "This is not an era of war," and affirmed India's readiness to support the peace efforts.
