Election Commission Launches Enumeration Phase of Special Intensive Revision in Four States
New Delhi, June 1 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has commenced the Enumeration Phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim and Manipur, marking the third phase of the nationwide exercise aimed at ensuring that all eligible citizens are included in the electoral rolls while removing ineligible entries.
The Special Intensive Revision was ordered by the Commission on May 14, 2026, under Article 324 of the Constitution and Section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950. The exercise is being conducted across 16 states and three Union Territories.
