New Delhi, Aug. 8 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially countered Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's claims of large-scale voter fraud in the Mahadevapura constituency of Karnataka, terming them "misleading" unless substantiated with sworn evidence. In a strongly worded letter and a fact-check graphic posted on social media, the ECI has asked Rahul Gandhi to submit a signed declaration under Rule 20(3)(b) of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, detailing the names and particulars of alleged fake or duplicate voters. Without such a submission under oath, the Commission made clear, no formal proceedings can be initiated.
