New Delhi, Nov. 4 -- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued an official clarification refuting media reports that allegedly drew "misleading conclusions" from a recent RTI reply about the functionality of CCTVs in the Metro network.

In a detailed statement, DMRC reaffirmed that it remains one of the safest and most secure modes of public transport in India, especially for women commuters. The Corporation explained that its 24,000 CCTV cameras-including 11,000 inside trains and 13,000 across metro stations-are monitored and maintained regularly to ensure near-total operational functionality.
