New Delhi, Oct. 6 -- The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has stated that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been mandated to closely monitor airfares during the festive season and to take appropriate measures in case of any abnormal surge in prices. The move aims to ensure affordability and smooth travel for passengers amid rising festive demand.
Accordingly, the DGCA has proactively taken up the matter with domestic airlines and instructed them to increase flight capacities by deploying additional services across high-demand routes. The Ministry said this step is part of the government's ongoing efforts to safeguard consumer interests and maintain fair market practices.
