New Delhi, June 15 -- Delhi Zoo has launched a citizen science initiative aimed at promoting public participation in bird monitoring and biodiversity conservation through regular bird-watching activities within its campus.

As part of the initiative, weekly bird observation sessions will be organised to encourage nature enthusiasts, students and wildlife lovers to contribute to documenting avian diversity and understanding local ecosystems.

The inaugural edition of "Sunday Bird Walk - National Zoological Park" was held on Sunday morning under the guidance of ornithologist Dr. Paritosh Ahmed and a team of experienced birdwatchers.
