New Delhi, Sept. 25 -- Delhi is set to take a historic step in its fight against air pollution, with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) granting approval to IIT Kanpur to conduct cloud seeding operations in the capital between October 1 and November 30, 2025.
Announcing the development, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that an aircraft has already been placed on standby, and trials will be conducted as soon as weather and scientific conditions become favorable. This will mark the first instance of artificial rainfall in India through cloud seeding.
