Delhi Metro to run extra train trips to encourage more people to use Metro than private vehicles
New Delhi, May 18 -- Recognising the critical role of mass transit in ensuring energy security, economic resilience and environmental sustainability, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said it is undertaking a series of strategic initiatives to facilitate greater adoption of Metro services while enhancing commuter convenience, safety and accessibility.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said it will introduce 24 additional train trips from six additional trains every Monday starting from May 18, 2026, and on other days as and when required, anticipating a likely shift from road transport to Metro services.
