New Delhi, May 11 -- Delhi Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu hosted young thalassemia fighters and members of the Thal India team at Lok Niwas on the occasion of Mother's Day, describing the children as symbols of resilience and courage.

The Lieutenant Governor said it was Delhi's duty to ensure that their struggle is supported with a world-class healthcare system. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Health for All," he said efforts would continue to prioritise enhanced screening, safe blood transfusion support and uninterrupted supply of life-saving medicines for children suffering from thalassemia.
