New Delhi, Sept. 25 -- The meeting approved projects focused on connecting transport services, improving pedestrian routes and strengthening last-mile access, according to a post by the Lieutenant Governor's office. The office said coordination among agencies would be central to the effort.

The Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning and Engineering) Centre (UTTIPEC) was set up by the Delhi Development Authority in 2008 to improve mobility, reduce congestion and promote road safety in Delhi. It works to coordinate transport planning and traffic management across agencies through measures such as road safety audits, traffic engineering, better use of road space and coordination of utility works.
