New Delhi, Nov. 10 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the Delhi government will soon launch the 'Atal Canteen Yojana' aimed at ensuring dignity and food security for the poor, labourers, and common citizens.

The initiative, named in honour of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will begin on December 25, his birth anniversary. Under the scheme, 100 canteens across Delhi will serve citizens hot, clean, and nutritious meals for just Rs.5.

To maintain transparency, the system will be operated through digital tokens and CCTV monitoring. Each centre will distribute 500 meals in the morning and 500 in the evening, adhering strictly to FSSAI standards to ensure food quality.
