Delhi Government issues clarification on CBDC-Based Ration Distribution System
New Delhi, June 4 -- Delhi Food and Supplies Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has dismissed what he described as incomplete and misleading information being circulated regarding the proposed Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)-based ration distribution system in Delhi.
Sirsa said claims that beneficiaries would stop receiving ration under the new system are incorrect. He clarified that eligible citizens will continue to receive their ration without interruption.
Explaining the proposed mechanism, the minister said that if a beneficiary is unable to collect ration for two or three months, the unclaimed entitlement will be carried forward and added to the allocation of the following month, allowing it to be collected later.
