New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a relaxation in restrictions on the use of loudspeakers during the upcoming festive season. Loudspeakers at Ramlila performances, Durga Puja pandals, and other cultural-religious events will now be permitted until midnight, extending the deadline by two hours from the existing 10 pm limit.
Gupta said that Hindu festivals often face unnecessary difficulties due to the early cutoff time. "Ramlila or Durga Puja cannot realistically conclude at 10 pm. When Dandiya in Gujarat and other festivals in different states go on all night, why should the people of Delhi be restricted? That is why this year, we are allowing celebrations to continue till 12 am," she stated.
