New Delhi, July 2 -- The Union Cabinet has approved the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme to boost employment generation, enhance employability, and improve social security across sectors, with a special focus on the manufacturing sector. The scheme is designed to incentivize the creation of over 3.5 crore jobs in the country over a period of two years, from August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2027.

With a total outlay of Rs.99,446 crore, the ELI Scheme will offer direct benefits to newly created jobs within the specified timeline. The initiative specifically aims to support first-time employees, with a structured incentive to encourage sustained employment.
