New Delhi, June 10 -- Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah launched the Land Port Management System (LPMS-VINIMAY) in New Delhi. The event was attended by the Union Home Secretary, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, the Secretary (Border Management) and the Chairman of the Land Ports Authority of India.

Addressing the programme, Shah said the Ministry of Home Affairs is working on a four-pronged Smart Borders strategy to strengthen India's border management framework. He said the Land Ports Authority is emerging as a key pillar of this strategy and that LPMS, along with Smart Borders, will help create a more secure and modern border management system by enhancing coordination and curbing illegal activities.
