New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- A verdict by a special court in Mumbai has acquitted all the 7 accused in the 2006 Malegaon bombing case.
The seven individuals were Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, former BJP MP from Bhopal;Lt Col Prasad Shrikant Purohit, then serving officer in Military Intelligence; Major (Retd) Ramesh Upadhyay; Ajay Rahirkar; Sudhakar Dwivedi; Sudhakar Chaturvedi; and Sameer Kulkarni.
The 2006 Malegaon bombings took place on 8 September 2006 in Malegaon, a town in the Nashik district of the Indian state of Maharashtra, some 290 km northeast of Mumbai.
