New Delhi, Nov. 5 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest in Govindpuri, Delhi, against what it termed a "anti-people decision" by the Rekha Gupta-led BJP government to shut down Mohalla Clinics, the community health centres that had become a hallmark of Delhi's local healthcare system.
AAP leader Kuldeep Kumar said that Delhi residents would "take revenge on the BJP at the ballot box" for closing the clinics that provided free medical consultations and medicines to the public. He accused the BJP government of acting with hostility toward the people of Delhi and called Chief Minister Rekha Gupta a "false leader who has betrayed her own promises."
