New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded amendments in The Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025 terming it a pro-management and anti-parent legislation. Leader of Opposition Atishi led the AAP's charge, accusing the government of favouring private school owners at the cost of transparency and affordability.

Atishi said the bill, in its current form, legitimizes the excessive fee hikes made by private schools from April 1, 2025, without any audit or oversight. "This bill seeks to seal the arbitrary fee increases, instead of protecting parents," she said. "We are demanding that schools only be allowed to charge the audited fee of 2024-25 until proper scrutiny is conducted."
