Mumbai, Nov. 3 -- Mumbai-headquartered Energy In Motion has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sorigin Green Mobility to deploy 500 electric heavy commercial vehicles over a two-year timeframe.

The collaboration targets the adoption of electric heavy-duty freight transport and the decarbonisation of commercial logistics networks across major freight corridors in India, including the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority ecosystem.

Under the terms of the agreement, Energy In Motion will supply its Ashwa 55-tonne electric tractors, backed by charging infrastructure, battery-swapping networks and energy-management systems.
