New Delhi, Sept. 26 -- Assata Shakur, who was a member of the Black Liberation Army and fugitive with a $2 million FBI reward on her head, died in Havana where she had to fled to after escaping from prison, Cuban officials said Friday.

In 2013 the FBI made Shakur the first woman on its most wanted terrorists list and, with the state of New Jersey Attorney, increased the reward for her capture to $2 million, as per reports.

Assata Shakur was 78-years-old.

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs said she died in Havana of health complications and advanced age.
