New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- Kochi City Police Commissioner Putta Wimaladitya has said that actress Lakshmi Menon, accused in a case involving the kidnapping and assault of a young IT employee, is currently absconding. Speaking with Indian Express Malayalam he said that three of the four accused have already been arrested, while a detailed investigation is underway into the actress's role.

According to police, Menon has been named as the third accused in the incident, which took place after an argument at a bar in Kochi. The victim, an IT professional, was allegedly kidnapped and beaten. Officers said the charges were filed based on information that the actress was inside the car used by the kidnappers.
