New Delhi, Feb. 11 -- Anthropic Software, a startup from Belagavi (Karnataka) in India has taken legal measures against artificial intelligence research firm and Claude AI chatbot maker Anthropic PBC over its name, according to a report by Moneycontrol.

The move came as the United States-based AI major seeks to expand operations in India, and the homegrown company views the name overlap as misrepresentation and erosion of brand identity, it added.

Livemint could not independently verify the report.

Moneycontrol said that Anthropic PBC has not yet responded to queries.
